Due to the high costs involed, if you are interested in booking a Semi-Intensive course please read the following information carefully before booking a course to ensure you understand and agree.
Suitability
Semi-Intensive courses are only really suitable for people who pick up new skills fairly quickly and who thrive under pressure and are good at or used to dealing with deadlines. You will be driving for 3 hours on each training day for 90 minutes per session with a 30 minute break in between sessions. This can be quite intense. Semi-Intensive courses are not suitable for nervours drivers, those who take longer to learn and pick up new skills, don't thrive well under pressure, or who prefer to go at their own pace. Remember once a course has begun no refunds will be offered for failure to complete the course by pupils who no longer feel able to cope with it.
Booking Process
To begin the booking process contact Lee's Driver Training and enquire about course availability. If a course is available I will discuss what previous driving experience you have if any and pick a course that is most appropriate for your needs.
Deposit
A course deposit of £100 will be required to secure a booking, this deposit will be deductible from the price of the main course. Once this has been received a 'Free' 60 minute lesson will be offered for those who have previous driving experience to asses your current driving ability and to confirm the correct course length has been chosen. If you are a complete beginner, no 60 minute assessment lesson will be required. If after the 60 minute assessment lesson is conducted Lee's Driver Training and the client cannot agree on the most suitable course length required, your deposit will be returned to you minus the cost of a 60 minute driving lesson charged at my standard PAYG rate and the course cancelled.
Full Payment
The full course balance will then become payable 7 (seven) days before the start of the first training day. This deadline payment date will be confirmed with you. If the full balance isn't received by midnight at the latest 7 (seven) days before the course start date, the course will be cancelled and your deposit will be lost.
Your Availability - Attending Your Course
Courses of whatever length will be conducted weekly on Thursdays, so you will need to ensure you are available from 11:00am till 14:30pm on a weekly basis throughout the length of your course.
Cancellation of Training Days
Unlike Pay As You Go weekly lessons cancellations of semi-intensive courses can cause severe scheduling issues in my diary and potentionally incur significant costs for rearranging lessons especially if I have another semi-intensive course booked after yours, therefore if you cannot make a training day on any particular Thursday you must provide 3 days notice in advance that you cannot make the training day. Cancellation notice less than this will result in the hours missed becoming forfeit with no refund provided. You may cancel up to two training days throughout the entirety of your course providing you give 3 days notice in advance without losing those days or hours. Cancellation of more than two training days throughout your course will result in any additional days/hours missed being forfeit and no refund being offered regardless of the notice period given or the reason - unless it is a medical emergency or close personal bereavement - however documented proof will be required and verified! Failure to provide the proofs or where documents cannot be verified will result in loss of those days or hours missed. Being called into work on a training day or not having suitable child care arranged is not a suitable reason - remember you are entering into a legally binding contract for a Semi-Intensive course and you must ensure you are available and able to comit to the schedule as agreed. If you are not sure that you can commit it would be better to consider weekly Pay As You Go lessons instead which are much more flexible.
Mock Driving Test
The final hour of your course - regardless of the length you book - will be used to conduct a Mock Driving Test. This will be used to demonstrate to the pupil as well as myself what level you have achieved at the end of your course and if you are currently at "Diving Test Pass Standard." This mock test result will be used to determine what advice will be given as a debrief at the end of the course. Where a pupil has a DVSA test booked to coincide with the end of the course or a few weeks after, the result will be used to detemine if I will be able to assist with that test or not or if further training is recommended.
At The End Of Your Course
As everyone learns at their own pace, with some people picking up new skills quickly and others taking longer, there is no guarantee that you will be at "Test Pass Standard" at the end of your course - regardless of the length booked. Any driving school or instructor that promises or offers a guarantee that you will be ready for sure at the end of your course is being dishonest or using gimmicks like offering a free test if you fail your first. It is simply not possible to guarantee that someone will be ready for sure. If at the end of your course you have not yet reached driving test pass standard you may wish to consider transferring to weekly lessons to finish off or prefer to book a second course to reach the required standard - this will be discussed with you if necessary at the end of your training.
DVSA Driving Test Not Included
Semi-Intensive courses provided by Lee's Driver Training do not include a DVSA driving test at the end of it. The course is for driving tuition only. You can chose to pay for and book a test at your own expense to coincide approximately with the end of the course but in your own interests I would suggest this is arranged at least two weeks after the end of the course, in case further lessons are required to reach the correct standard. This would allow you the correct cancellation period with the DVSA in case you need to postpone or cancel your driving test without loosing your test fee. Please note that hours booked as part of a course cannot be used for a driving test, as the full alloted hours will be used for training. Therefore Lee's Driver Training is under no obligation to take you to any test you have booked at the end of your training. The contract is for tutition services only for the course length booked.
Withdrawal of Tuition Vehicle For The Driving Test
Semi-Intensive courses provided by Lee's Driver Training do not include a DVSA driving test at the end of them, however after your course you may decide to hire my vehicle for use with a driving test that you have booked to coincide with the end of your course. Please note that driving tests are only offered to pupils under certain conditions which you can find here -
Test Conditions - Lee's Driver Training may decline to accept your test booking request if your test booking doesn't comply with my test conditions as listed. Also Lee's Driver Training may withdraw the use of the training vehicle for any test you have booked should you not be at the correct driving test pass standard at the time your course ends. Remember the course and our contract covers tuition only and not a driving test.
